2016/8/13  Wicked Hathern Festival
Founded in 2012, Wicked Hathern Fest is swiftly becoming one of Leicestershire's premier music festivals. Located on the old County Show Field in Hathern, the event is in prime location on the main A6. A great range of music provided by local artists and headlining acts plus a bar specialising in real ales and home-brewed ciders and plenty for the kids to do too - a great family day out!

2016/8/14  Loughborough Mela
The Loughborough Mela Group is a wide partnership comprising the ethnic minority communities within Loughborough, Charnwood Borough Council, Human Rights & Equalities Charnwood, John Storer Charnwood, Charnwood Arts, local community groups and dedicated individuals.
The word “Mela” originates from the Indian sub-continent meaning ‘to meet’, where it is traditionally a gathering of people celebrating their community. Loughborough Mela Organisers and the Committee strive to attract visitors from the various villages in the County, giving people the perfect opportunity to experience South Asian arts and culture in all its diverse and colourful forms. The aim of the event is to showcase Asian culture and heritage, and link it back to its roots, whist strengthening community and supporting local artists, businesses and community groups.

Taking place in the Town Centre in the heart of the community of Loughborough, the Mela has become an important date in the calendar of the summer festival season, and there is more to Loughborough Mela than just music – the event also features stalls, fairground rides, a broad range of foods, children’s activities and a diverse entertainment programme. All visitors, young and old, will find something to entertain at this free event.

2016/8/19  Free Art Friday Loughborough
Free Art Friday is a global art sharing phenomenon and takes place today (Friday).
Artwork is placed in the street for any member of the public to enjoy and take home.
There are many artists across the world making art and leaving it out on the street.
The concept sits between graffiti art and placing work in a formal exhibition.
The idea is to leave no trace, so we are not encouraging artists to graffiti but to place work on window ledges, tuck drawings into railings just using tape or string that can be easily removed.
Artists in Loughborough are in touch with groups in Serbia and Santa Barbara among others.
Charnwood Arts’ Jemma Bagley said: “We did an art swap with Belgrade in Serbia earlier in the year and UK-born artist Grebo Gray who now lives in Belgrade has sent us some photos to put out on Friday.
“Local artists are encouraged to get involved and place artwork in the Granby Street area of Loughborough.
“We are part of a global network of artists who are making small works and placing them out in public for the passers by to find and take home.
“All work is tagged with the Free Art Friday label and we encourage finders to contact us through the Free Art Friday Loughborough Facebook page.
“It would be great if they could take a photo of themselves with their find.”

The work this time is inspired by the birds that carried messages in World War One - a theme reflected in Super Crochet Girls taking place at Picnic in the Park.

2016/8/20  Ashok and Lisa-Workshop
We did this workshop try to create some "new" meaningful character which can reprensent "University"as our first step of creating objects into time capsule. --- led by Ashok
A great workshop to interpret newly invented calligraphic characters, developed by Creative Continuum project interns with artist Ashok Mistry, into contemporary movement and dance.
